The latest edition of AEW Dynamite featured former world champion Kenny Omega making his sensational return. Omega made his first appearance on AEW since December 2023, when he announced his hiatus due to a diverticulitis diagnosis. Following his announcement, he was fired from his faction, The Elite. Also, Omega’s rival Kazuchika Okada joined as a new member, and Jack Perry became the latest addition to The Elite.
Kenny Omega, who received a huge pop upon his return on Dynamite, addressed diverticulitis, where doctors told him he was lucky enough to be diagnosed in the nick of time before anything horrible happened to him. Omega also mentioned that he didn’t watch AEW during his time off and talked about being scared. However, he started watching AEW again and saw the AEW Dynasty. He also praised Swerve Strickland, Will Ospreay, and Bryan Danielson.
Omega then promised that if there’s even a slight chance of his return, fans haven’t seen the last of him. He then focused his attention on the EVPs, The Young Bucks, reminding them that he is also an EVP of AEW. He was then interrupted by Kazuchika Okada, and both stars came face to face. However, out of nowhere, Jack Perry attacked Omega.
This led to The Young Bucks walking down the ramp. While it seemed like The Bucks were there to stop the attack, the tag-team champions hit Omega with an EVP Trigger. However, FTR came down to the ring to aid Kenny Omega, bringing the segment to an end where Omega was stretchered out.

Kenny Omega, who suffered a brutal assault at the hands of The Elite, faced another attack after AEW Dynamite. In the AEW Rampage, Omega, who was being stretchered out backstage with officials and FTR by his side, was attacked again by The Elite.
The Elite took out the officials and FTR and focused attention on Kenny Omega, who was on a stretcher. Omega, who was in pain on the stretcher, was attacked once again. Matt Jackson leaned in and told him that he loved him and that he had to change the world. Then, the Jacksons tipped over Omega’s stretcher and left him on the floor.
