Ryan Garcia’s ostarine allegations are all over the internet today, but the professional boxer took to X (formerly Twitter) to deny the test report. He mentioned that his win over Devin Haney was fair and that no performance-enhancing substance was involved. Here are all the details on Ryan Garcia’s test results and his take on the controversial situation.

Did Ryan Garcia test positive for banned substances?

The use of performance-enhancing substances like ostarine is strictly prohibited in the game of boxing, as it gives one opponent an unfair advantage over the other. Last month, Garcia and Devin Haney were pitted against each other in a WBC super-lightweight champion bout. The match ended with Garcia knocking out Havey three times to secure the victory. Although he came out victorious, he didn’t receive the champion’s title as a result of not being the same weight as Haney in the match.

As per the latest reports, it’s known that urine samples were taken from Garcia a day before the match and also on the day. The reports came late, and now the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) has stated that Garcia has tested positive for ostarine, a drug banned in the United States.

This result by VADA is being denied by the professional boxer, who claims that never in his life has he taken any kind of steroids and that he didn’t cheat.

Garcia said in an X video: “Everybody knows that I don’t cheat. Never taken a steroid… I don’t even know where to get steroids. I barely take supplements. Big lies, I beat his ass.”

What does ostarine do and is it a PED?

Ostarine, also known as MK-2866, is a performance-improving drug consumed by individuals who want to enhance their lean body mass. The drug aids in muscle growth and increases strength, making individuals bulk up a bit. However, it doesn’t have anything to do with increasing body fat. Rather, it aids in losing it a bit and building muscles.

But why is it banned in the United States? It is still an investigational drug that has been prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency. And yes, it is a performance-enhancing drug. Consuming such a drug increases an athlete’s strength, stamina, and muscle mass, giving them increased power over their opponent, which is unfair.
