Barbra Streisand took to social media to apologize to actress Melissa McCarthy for comments the legendary artist and actress made on an Instagram post.

Earlier this week, Streisand commented on a photo that McCarthy shared on Instagram of her and choreographer Matthew Bourne. In her comment, Streisand asked McCarthy if she had been taking Ozempic, also known as semaglutide, an injectable diabetes medicine that has become extremely popular for its ability to make people lose weight quickly.

Fans quickly flocked to the comment and shared it across social media, with many wondering if Streisand was mocking McCarthy. On Tuesday, Streisand took to Twitter to clarify, and said she meant nothing but compliments for the actress.

“[Oh my god] – I went on Instagram to see the photos we’d posted of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday! Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album,” said Streisand. “She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!”

Talking to TMZ, McCarthy said that she forgives Streisand, and doesn’t hold any ill-will toward the legend. “I think Barbra is a treasure and I love her,” said McCarthy according to TMZ.

Both McCarthy and Streisand do have a history of working together, with McCarthy appearing on Streisand’s 2016 album Encore, as Barbra mentioned in her post. McCarthy is currently set to star in the Netflix comedy film Unfrosted, which is set to release on May 3, 2024, on Netflix.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage launched on PC and consoles last year and is coming to iOS this summer. The action-adventure game launches on iPad and iPhone on June 6, and users can pre-register now. However, not every iOS device will be able to run it.

As Digital Trends reported, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a full console game, so not every iOS device can run it. Specifically, players will need an iPhone with an Apple A17 Pro chip or an iPad with an Apple A1 chip. This limits it to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Ubisoft also recommends players use a controller for the best experience, though one is not required. The first 90 minutes are free to play after downloading it from the App Store, with the rest of the game costing $50.

Set in 9th century Baghdad, Assassin’s Creed Mirage follows protagonist Basim in his quest to prevent the Order of the Ancients from acquiring artifacts of great power. It’s something of a back-to-basics for the series, with a smaller open world and no RPG mechanics. However, the game saw only mixed reviews, with some critics criticizing the shallow story, gameplay, and word design. The Xbox Series X/S version averaged 77 on Metacritic, with the PC and PS5 versions averaging 76.

Still, the game is not without fans, and it’s the first full AAA Assassin’s Creed game on iOS. This puts it in a small club of recent AAA console games on iPhone. Other notable members include Resident Evil: Village, the RE4 Remake, and Death Stranding: Director’s Cut.

Warner Bros. Discovery Entertainment has shared a new Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three trailer, revealing that the third part of the film will release soon.

The new trailer shows off the conclusion of the film, and will see the large roster of DC superheroes coming together to save the universe. The first part of the Tomorrowverse finale released earlier this year, with the second part releasing last week.

The early May theatrical slot has historically gone to new installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But with only one new MCU movie releasing this year, Hollywood needed a replacement. And what better than an action comedy movie starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, the two supporting actors of last year’s Barbenheimer double feature? Have no fear, The Fall Guy is here to give you the excitement, laughs, and all the joy you could ever want from a theatrical experience. This is one hell of a good time, and you can’t miss it.

The film comes to us from director David Leitch, who previously made his mark in Hollywood as Brad Pitt’s stunt double before co-directing the original John Wick and establishing a name for himself on films like Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw, and most recently, Bullet Train. He’s one of the most reliable action directors working in Hollywood, and his background in stunts made him the perfect choice to bring this movie to life. The Fall Guy follows washed-up stuntman Colt Seavers (Gosling), working on a movie directed by his ex-girlfriend Jody Moreno (Blunt), when he must track down the missing star of the movie, Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).

The opening sequence is all in one take, and it expertly showcases the controlled chaos of working on a movie set. We have the assistant director trying to keep everything on schedule, the producer worrying about the budget and fighting to keep the movie running, and the stressed-out director wearing twelve different hats. From there, we get a quick sense of the crazy stunts that professionals do on sets. After a stunt goes wrong, Colt is left alone, recovering and having lost his relationship with Jody.

But after Dan (Winston Duke) brings Colt onto Jody’s set for her directorial debut feature, the producer Gail (Hannah Waddingham) sends Colt on a task to find the missing star of the movie. From there, we have our film. It’s the most entertaining blockbuster of the year featuring two of the best movie stars working today. Leitch not only directs the action very well, but he does a great job with the chemistry. Colt and Jody have a tumultuous past, and they are still working through a few things by the time the main events start. They work through their issues in a hilarious fashion.

Leitch is also excellent at throwing in visual gags to make each scene pop just a little more than it should. One particular scene involving unicorns is splendidly funny. With dynamite chemistry between our A-list actors, Leitch taps into something truly special. Between the romance and the well-crafted, exciting action set pieces, The Fall Guy gets two thumbs up for sheer entertainment value. It deserves a few extra points for an action scene that teams up Colt with an adorable dog.

Ryan Gosling is an actor that you’ll always love watching in a movie. It’s a role that seems more tailor-made for Leitch’s other Canadian collaborator named Ryan but of the Reynolds variety. But last year’s Barbie movie showed us again that Gosling is a supremely talented comedic actor. His take on Colt Seavers is another performance where we see how sublime his comedic timing is. He’s hilarious in this film, and Blunt plays off of him very well. Gosling is no stranger to playing stuntmen, having previously played one in Drive. However, if you wanted to compare his performance to his other work, this would be the perfect marriage of his roles in The Nice Guys and The Grey Man.

It’s a great concept to have a stuntman being forced to go on a real adventure where they have to use their stunt training to survive against actual bad guys. The screenplay from Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, Hobbs & Shaw) takes very loose inspiration from the 1980s TV show that the film is based on, but it feels fresh and exciting in its own right. And with Leitch’s experience in stunts, his dedication to practical stunts and special effects work well. This is a love letter to Hollywood stunt teams and the magic of making movies.

Duke plays a fun supporting character who serves as Colt’s best friend. Taylor-Johnson and Waddingham give strong performances as well, and Oscar-nominated Stephanie Hsu appears in the movie. She doesn’t appear in the movie for a long time, but she leaves a strong impression. The Fall Guy can occasionally feel a bit self-indulgent with its clips from other Leitch movies and a few prominent logos of Leitch’s own production company 87Eleven. However, it uses a Taylor Swift song to its maximum ability, and it really works as a date movie. It’s got action, romance, laughs, and movie stars. It gave me what I wanted from a big, dumb, enjoyable action film.

SCORE: 8/10

As ComingSoon’s review policy explains, a score of 8 equates to “Great.” While there are a few minor issues, this score means that the art succeeds at its goal and leaves a memorable impact.

Following its theatrical release last December, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has announced The Boys in the Boat Blu-ray release date for Amazon MGM Studios’ sports biographical drama about an underdog college rowing team’s journey to the Olympics.

The George Clooney-directed movie will be available for purchase on Blu-ray, beginning on June 25 for $22.99 (ERP). During its theatrical run, the film had garnered a gross of over $55 million at the box office against a reported budget of around $40 million. Despite receiving mixed critical reviews, it currently holds an Audience Score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Boys in the Boat was directed by Clooney from a screenplay written by Mark L. Smith. The film starred Callum Turner, Joel Edgerton, Chris Diamantopoulos, Jack Mulhern, Sam Strike, Luke Slattery, Thomas Elms, Tom Varey, Bruce Herbelin-Earle, Wil Coban, James Wolk, Hadley Robinson, and Courtney Henggeler. Sideshow Collectibles has offered up the first look at one of its newest premium Star Wars figures, this time modeled after an all-chrome version of Commander Cody.

The character who came to be a fan-favorite in the prequel trilogies for the hit Star Wars franchise is getting a sixth scale figure from Sideshow. Only, instead of his normal Clone Trooper paint job, this figure is all chrome, offering up a unique take on the character’s more classic look.

To celebrate the figure and the upcoming May 4, Sideshow has released a first look video detailing the figure, which you can see below:

The Commander Cody figure is decorated with silver chrome paint, offering up a reflective and metallic finish. As is the case with many Sideshow figures, the Commander Cody figure will come with a variety of accessories, including:

• Two styles of blaster rifles

For those looking to pick up the Commander Cody figure, it’s available to preorder now on Sideshow’s website. While the next The Sims game is likely still a while off, its highly anticipated rival, Life by You, is coming to PC very soon. After a year-long delay, the game is now set to release in PC early access on June 4.

Developer Paradox Tectonic and publisher Paradox Interactive revealed the game in March 2023 and originally intended to launch it that June. However, it faced a substantial delay, with Paradox only recently revealing the new early release date on Steam and The Epic Game Store. Unfortunately, there has been no indication that Life by You is coming to consoles. However, Paradox often publishes games on PC first, with console ports released later. So, while it’s unconfirmed, the game may still come to PlayStation and Xbox somewhere down the line.

One of Life by You’s key changes to The Sims’ formula is including a seamless open world. Players can watch their characters travel on foot or using vehicles like cars and bikes and even complete quests. It also gives the option to take direct control over a character, steering them around in third person. Also, unlike The Sims, where characters talk in gibberish, Life by You features a real-language dialogue system. As with other aspects of the game, players can let their characters manage things themselves or take over directly.

Paradox Interactive is best known as a developer of strategy games such as Stellaris. However, its publishing wing also released Cities Skylines, which filled the hole left by the dormant SimCity series. Therefore, it’s not surprising that Paradox might want its version of The Sims. Hopefully, Life by You will release in a better state than the controversial Cities Skylines 2.
